Harvard's Dick Button held only a slight lead in defense of his North American Men's Figure Skating Championship after completion of the compulsory figures. Button had only a 15.8 point margin over runner-up James Grogan.
Button's specialty, however, the free skating part of the championship, will be held today.
Last month, Button captured the Men's World Figure Crown at Milan.
