Smith May Play as All-Star

Ed smith, varsity basketball captain, was reported last night to have accepted an invitation to play in the New York Herald Tribune's annual East-west all-star game March 31 in Madison Square Garden. The game is played for the benefit of the Tribune's Fresh Air Fund.

Smith was yesterday named to the Eastern League's all-star first team by the seven coaches of the League. Other members of the team were forward and Most Valuable Player John Azary of Columbia, center Ernie Beck of Penn, guard Paul Gerwin of Cornell, and guard Mike Kearns of Princeton.
