Decisions on Candidates' Eligibility Postpone Radcliffe Class Elections

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The election of all Radcliffe class officers, originally scheduled for today and tomorrow, has been postponed one day due to a question of the eligibility of three candidates with low academic standing.

Although the Student Government constitution limits candidacy to girls in Group Five or above, it does allow the Student Council to make exceptions.

Three girls ranking below Group Five petitioned the Council this weekend to be accepted as candidates. Because the special petitions were received after the Saturday deadline, the Council had to hold an emergency meeting last night at which only one petition was accepted.

As a result, the candidates' tea slated for yesterday afternoon could not be held, and the election was delayed. The tea has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. this afternoon. Results of the election will be announced Friday.
