Students Must File For Cheap Rooms

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Scholarship students and others applying for rooms costing $370 per year or less will be required to file statements of financial need, John U. Monro '34, director of the Financial Aid Center, said yesterday. The new figure is $60 higher than last year's minimum in the low rent classification, in line with general rent increase.

Members of Houses who wish to change to lower-priced rooms because of the rent boost will be referred to the Aid Center by Housemasters, if the rooms they desire fall into the new minimum category. Freshmen will be informed of the financial statement requirement when House applications are distributed later this week.

Monro's office will check the financial status of students requesting low rent rooms and then submit recommendations to the various Housemasters. The lists will aid Housemasters in allocating those low-rent rooms available for the coming year.
