All Air Force R.O.T.C. students graduating from college this year were alertd for active duty by the Air Force yesterday. This will affect some 25 seniors now in the Air R.O.T.C. group here.
Those who left school at mid-term will be called within 90 to 120 days. June graduates will receive orders and commissions as second lieutenants within 90 days of Commencement.
The R.O.T.C. graduates who receive notice from the Air Force will be allowed to volunteer for flight training or for assignments to special university meteorological courses.
Volunteers must agree to remain on active duty for three years after completing this special training. Those who do not volunteer will be assigned duties matching as closely as possible their academic and military training.
Meanwhile, the House Armed Services Committee agreed yesterday on a draft age of 181/2, and extension of the service period from 21 to 26 months. Chairman Vinson (D-Ga.) however, decided the committee could not get its bill in shape for House debate before the March 22 recess. This will delay consideration until April 2, when the members return.
