Cambridge police yesterday said a former student is still being sought for questioning by State Police, but added that he had nothing to do with the second Claverly fire. He is wanted because of his suspicious actions at the first blaze.
Captain of Detectives Patrick F. Ready stated that the student who left College last year for undisclosed reasons, was seen intoxicated at the first Claverly Hall fire. Police want to question him because he reportedly threw furniture out of the burning building.
The second fire, which Ready has termed definitely the "work of an arsonist," is still under investigation by Cambridge officials and the State Fire Marshall's office. But Ready stated that investigation proved that the student who was seen at the first blaze could not have started the fire.
