Bishop G. Bromley Oxnam of the New York Methodist Area described the sufferings of European ministers under Nazi rule in his sermon at Memorial Church yesterday. "If we had to face what these men faced, Bishop Oxnam asked, would our faith sustain us?"
He said that only "a direct, immediate, and personal relationship with God" can put a man "beyond the reach of any human tyrant." Bishop Oxnam stressed that in the present world crisis, man's faith is being severely tested.
