Increasing numbers of students are seeking summer jobs to defray rising college costs, John W. Holt, director of the Office of Student Employment, said yesterday. He predicted that 500 to 1,000 University students will register at the Employment Office for summer work before March 31.
Holt added that students want to work in their home towns, in order to cut travel and board expenses.
