The top four men of the Crimson squash team easily brushed aside their first-round opponents yesterday in the intercollegiate matches at Williams.
But Coach Jack Barnaby reported that Joe Clark suffered a pulled back muscle, and may have to stop play in the tournament. Unseeded Clark played well in upsetting fifth-seeded Henty of Wesleyan, but faces an easier test today. His playing condition will not be known until match-time.
Hugh Nawn faces the most difficult opposition today, playing second-seeded Smith of Amherst. Smith was seeded first last year.
Top-seeded Captain Henry Foster vanquished Sanders of Army, 15-6, 15-5, 15-13. Hugh Nawn defeated Dartmouth's Flanagan, 15-9, 15-12, 17-16.
Charley Ufford experienced a tough first game, but finally downed Austin of Dartmouth, 18-17, 15-12, 15-7. Joe Clark beat Wesleyan's Henty, 15-13, 15-10, -5-9.
