The only journalism courses available to Radcliffe students, CRIMSON competitions, start at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the little red brick building at 14 Plympton Street.
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are invited to imbibe of refreshments and the facilities the CRIMSON offers to newspaper addicts who are interested in either the reporting or business end of the paper.
The competitions for Radcliffe correspondents and Radcliffe's business representatives are training programs which last a maximum of eight weeks. Correspondents will learn the fundamentals of news writing, interviewing, news evaluation, and will become familiar with the rudiments of newspaper production.
Business representatives will learn elements of advertising techniques, advertising sales, and advertising layout.
For students who want to go on later to newspaper or magazine work, there is no better way to get the necessary background. Besides, where else in Cambridge can you got free cokes just by walking in?
