Al Whitehouse, president of the Kentucky, C.I.O. Council, said last night "strong American trade unions are one reason Communism has not gained a foothold in America."

Speaking before the Southern Club of the Business School, White declared, "unions have prevented conditions which breed revolution."

"The challenge to management," he continued, "is to have good unions, because both management and labor want the same thing."
