Paul Robeson will address the Young Progressives in Emerson D at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Robeson, noted singer of American folk ballads and outspoken supporter of the Soviet Union, will speak on "The Liberation of the American Negro" in honor of Negro History Week. The meeting is open to the public.
Robeson, at a major public appearance in September, 1949, attracted nation-wide notoriety. At two concerts in Peekskill, New York, the local population twice staged violent anti-Communist demonstrations.
