'54, Brownell Win 'C' Squash Titles

The freshman 'C' squash team won its division title in the 'C' League and completed its league schedule undefeated yesterday, blanking the M.I.T. Faculty-Graduate squad, 5 to 0, to break a tie for first place.

The Yardlings will take on the Milton-Hoosie Club, winner of the other division of the 'C' League, next week in a home-and-home series to determine the league champion.

Laurence D. Brownell '54, number one man on the freshman squad, won the 'C' League individual tournament on Monday. Yardling players have now won the tourney for four straight years.

The varsity 'C' team downed the Maugus Club, 3 to 2, yesterday.

The freshman summary: Brownell (H) defeated Averbach, 3-0; Ward (H) defeated Baldwin, 3-0; Miller (H) defeated Houchling, 3-2; Rose (H) defeated Frothingham, 3-1; Tomes (H) defeated Dudley, 3-1.
