Nominations of candidates for the 1951 permanent senior class committee open today, Benjamin F. Macdonald '52, chairman of the committee on class affairs, announced last night.

The three men receiving the highest number of votes in the election will be elected class marshals.

In order to have his name placed on the ballot, a senior must submit a petition with 25 signatures on it to the Student Council Office in Phillips Brooks House by 5 p.m. February 22.

The 12 members of the committee, as long as they live, will have charge of all '51 class activities after graduation. They will also make plans for Commencement, and the first marshal will lead the Commencement procession.

The Class of 1950 nominated 69 of their classmates, a record number. The Student Council managed the elections, in which 851 of the 1,600 eligible voters cast ballots.

Macdonald said the election would be held "in the near future."
