Lodge Asks Economic Support for Far East

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Economic aid, not Voice of America platitudes, is what the Far East needs today, Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. told a Young Republicans' meeting at the Hotel Commander last night.

At 7:30 tonight, Mrs. Vera Micheles Dean, director of the Foreign Policy Association, will address a meeting of the Liberal Union and Radcliffe S.D.A. in New Lecture Hall on the topic, "The Next Phase in Our Foreign Policy."

Lodge blamed the administration for the disintegration of American fighting strength after the last war. He urged that displaced persons who want to fight for this country be given the opportunity in a special "Foreign Legion" already authorized by Congress and the President.
