Thayer Residents Protest Condition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The freshmen residents of the south entry of Thayer Hall are protesting to the University about the poor condition of their living quarters.

A petition bearing more than 30 names will be submitted to the office of the Dean of Freshman later this week, condemning the "filthy and peeling walls, rotten and loose window sills, and ceilings cracked to the point that they are in danger of falling."

The Yardlings in Thayer South were resigned to their shabby surroundings until several days ago, when it was learned that the North and Middle entries were soon to be repaired and repainted, but that a shortage of funds would prevent similar work on the South entry.

One aroused freshman pointed disgustedly to his ceiling, from which water drips freely and frequently onto his desk and floor from the bathroom upstairs.
