Dartmouth Smacks Six, 5-1; Crimson Loses 3rd Straight

Dartmouth's hockey team scored two goals in the first period and three more in the second to smother the varsity sextet, 5 to 1, on Hanover's Davis Rink Saturday. The loss was the Crimson's third straight.

Not until the final period could the Crimson defense cope with the Dartmouth attack led by first-line center Captain Cliff Harrison, who scored two of the Green's goals. Mike Choukas, pivot on the second line, also tallied twice.

Meanwhile, Dartmouth's rugged defense and the fine goaltending of Dick McMahon combined to keep the visitors helpless. Less than half a minute remained in the game before Walt Greeley banged Amory Hubbard's rebound past reserve goalie Fred Hitt, barely averting the shutout.

Harrison opened the scoring for the Indians--on route to their first Pentagonal win--with a looping drive from the blue line that hit the upper right hand corner at 9:20. Hank Waters converted a Choukas pass just six minutes later.

Harrison's second goal, like his first, came on a pass from burly defense man John Grocutt, this time at 2:50 of the second period. The Indians, showing no bad effects from the 7 to 0 walloping B.U. gave them, kept right on going. Choukas countered the final two goals, both on close-in shots.
