The J. Smith Club has qualified for the finals of the Law School's Ames Competition by defeating the E. Warren Club in a mock trial on baseball's controversial reserve clause at Langdell Courtroom last night.

Their opponents in the Competition finals, to be hold next spring, will be the winner of the Marshall Club versus Scott-Powell Club semi-final trial tomorrow at 8 p.m. Federal Income Tax laws will be involved in this case.

The victors in last night's trial were decided by the Honorable William H. Hastle, judge of the United States Court of Appeals of the Third Circuit, and his associate judges, Elliott L. Richardson LL.B. '44 and Charles P. Curtis LL.B. '17. In announcing his decision, Judge Hastle declared that there was "real excellence on the presentation of both sides." He also emphasized careful preparation of briefs by the winning club.

The victorious spokesmen for the J. Smith Club were Phillip C. Potter. Jr. 3L and Joseph R. Cortese 3L.
