Christmas Snow Good: Varsity to Ski at Vermont

With snow flurries on the way, skiing conditions at Thorn Mountain and Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire, Pleasant Mountain in Maine, and Claremont, Mass. are very favorable. Fifteen inches of base and about 5 inches of wet surface exist in most areas.

The varsity skiing team will participate in the Lyndonville Intercollegiate Meet at Lyndonville, Vermont over December 29-30. All members of the skiing team are reminded to obtain their equipment from the Linden St. Squash Courts before they close today.

Conditions in the New England area are as follows:

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Forecast: Snow flurries and colder today with temperatures below freezing and strong westerly wind.

Jackson: Black Mountain: less than one inch wet surface. Fair upper and lower trails.

Jackson: Thorn Mountain: 6 inches wet surface. Good upper and lower.

North Conway: Five inches wet surface. Fair lower.

Belknap, Laconia: One inch wet surface. Fair upper and lower.

Mount Sunapee: 7 inches wet surface. Fair to good upper, good lower.

MAINE

Pleasant Mocntain, Bridgton: 5 inches wet surface. Fair to good upper and lower.

VERMONT

Forecast: Same as for New Hampshire.

Stowe, Mansfield: 8 inches wet surface. Fair to good upper, fair lower.

Manchester, Big Bromley: No skiing.

Manchester, Snow Valley: 2 inches wet surface. Poor to fair upper and lower.

Brattleboro, Hogback: Less than one inch wet surface. Fair upper and lower.

Waitsfield, Mad River: 3 inches wet surface. Fair upper, fair to good lower.

Heartwellville, Dutch Hill: One inch wet surface. Fair upper and lower.

Woodstock: 8 inches wet surface. None to poor, upper and lower.
