300 Alumni to Advise '52 on Choosing Jobs

Several hundred seniors will confer with 300 alumni scattered throughout the country during Christmas vacation on post-graduation job prospects, Alexander Clark, assistant director of Student Placement, said yesterday.

Clark stated that the seniors can talk with alumni in government service, the professions, and business, and receive information on prospects in the alumni's particular fields. Although interviewing began September, most conferences will not take place until vacation.

The interviews themselves will not bring jobs, Clark said. The actual job-hunting will not begin until spring.

Plan Starts in 1948

The plan, called the Alumni Advisory Program, first started in 1948 when the placement office requested alumni participate in it.

The alumniare not expected to act as employment agencies, but serve to help the senior choose, not find jobs, Clark said.

Even seniors thinking of entering graduate probt from the talks, Clark added, by talking with experienced men, in the fields they plan to enter.

Earlier this fall. Clark said men going out into the working world should have a pretty easy time finding jobs to their satisfaction.
