Princeton will probably be the next of the Big Three to up its tuition. Francis R. B. Godolphin, Dean of the College, told the Tiger Undergraduate Council that the Princeton administration is considering a $100 rise effective next fall.
Godolphin said that Princeton will probably suffer an overall deficit of nearly $200,000 this year and that there was only an accumulated surplus of $212,000 to draw on.
The Dean added that inflation was making it tough for Princeton to hold onto faculty members. Full professors there draw a $7,000 a year minmimum as against $10,000 at Harvard. A final decision on a rise will probably be made December 28, Godolphin predicted.
