Dartmouth Athletic Director William H. McCarter in an official statement denied charges yesterday by Princeton football players and the Daily Princetonian that Dartmouth players deliberately tried to injure tailback Dick Kazmaier in last Saturday's game.
Commenting on the game. McCarter wrote "play was hard and under tension, and I am sorry that any of our players were responsible for any of the unsports-manlike action that marked especially the third quarter. None of the injuries on either side, however, was the result of such actions, but were a normal hazard of the game, and in no instance subject to penalty."
McCarter added that there was no basis for thinking that the Dartmouth coaches had inspired any unsportsman-like conduct.
