The Leverett House Music Society will present Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Sorceres" on December 5 through 8.
Members of the cast include David G. Black '53 in the title role, Peter Elvins '53, Yolanda Lyons '51, David Shapiro '51 1B, Mary Bartlett, Allan Miller '54, Dorothy Barnhouse '52, Ann Bregstein '53 and Ivan Nabokov '55. David Binder '53 directs the production, and Joel Mandelboum '53 the chorus.
The operetta will be performed in the Leverett Dining Hall and will have an orchestral accompaniment. "The Sorcerer" is the second Gilbert and Sullivan work done by the Hutch, which last year produced "Ruddigore." It is also the second play Gilbert and Sullivan wrote.
Binder plans to hold intensive beharsals during the next four weeks. He hopes this year's production will top the standards set by "Ruddigore" last year. Many of the cast in the latter production are cast in the present one.
