8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
David L. Ratner '52 escaped from the home of Charles C. Osborne '52 in Ipswich yesterday after being held there by force Sunday night and yesterday morning Ratner, Editorial Chairman of that CRIMSON, was kidnapped by four men in his Eliot House entry-way Sunday night while on his way home.
The kidnappers, according to Ratner, gave him a place to sleep but did not give him anything to eat. Yesterday morning they tied him to a bed, gagged him with an old sock, and then had an International Photo Service man take pictures. Ratner escaped soon afterwards by walking out the rear door while his captors were all in a front room. He hitch-hiked back to Cambridge.
The CRIMSON learned of the escapade yesterday morning, when some of the kidnappers called CRIMSON President William M. Simmons '52. Later, before Ratner had returned, the men called again and tried to bargain with Simmons for his return.
