Bird Warns Autry of Flying Danger

Thresky spent last night trying to dissuade cowboy star Gene Autry from flying to Chicago. The word-bird made an emergency landing at Logan Airport late yesterday afternoon, after he was wounded by the weekend storm.

Autry invited the copper cloud king to Hollywood to rest awhile after his first flying attempt, in 30 years, but Thresky demurred on the grounds of pressing social engagements today.

Meanwhile, in Cambridge, the bird's former roost-mates began a frantle search for the stray sophist. Several were seen lurking near city pumpkin plots (the bird lives on pumpkin seeds) with purse nets.

After his visit to the airport, where his tall feathers were realigned. Thresky took off and headed west. Control tower officials said be asked for a fight plan to Ipewich. So far, no further reports have come in.
