HUA Election Will Feature No Referenda or Survey Questions
Selection has begun for the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class, open to freshmen, soplomores, and juniors, and for the Officer Candidate Course, open to seniors and graduates, Lt. Col. Alexander A. Elder, U.S.M.C., announced yesterday.
Both programs give those selected commissions as Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps Reserve at the end of their training, and carry draft exemption until that time.
The Platoon Leaders Class program entails two summer training periods of six weeks each, but no classes during the academic year. It is open to physically fit non-seniors between the ages of 17 and 25. Officer Candidate Course trainees receive one ten week period prior to commissioning and must be between 20 and 27 years old.
All those interested in these programs should see Lt. Col. Elder between Tuesday and Friday of next week from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the N.R.O.T.C. building.
