Sophomore Emil San Soucie was elected captain of the cross-country team for the 1952 season yesterday. San Soucie, who commutes from Watertown, was captain of the freshman harriers last year
San Soucie started slowly this fall, ranking as low as fifth man after the first meets. However, he quickly moved up to fourth and then third spot on the team. In the Heptagonal Championships he was the second Crimson finisher behind Captain Dave Gregory; he was the third Harvard harrier to cross the finish line in the last meet of the year, the IC4A Championships.
San Soucie competed in the two mile run for the freshmen last year and is expected to run the same event-for the varsity this winter. This year's cross-country team had no juniors on it, which was why a sophomore was elected.
