Burke, Button Share Award by Burr Fund

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dustin M. Burke '52 and Richard T. Button '52 are this year's recipients of the Francis H. Burr '09 Scholarship, a special distinction conferred each year to the outstanding scholar-athlete in the graduating class, Dean Bender's office announced yesterday.

Button, who is Olympic and World Figure Skating Champion, and Burlie, defensive right halfback on the football team and captain of the varsity hockey squad, shared the award which is ordinarily given to just one man.

Burr, in whose honor the scholarship was named, was captain of the Crimson football squad in 1908. It is given each year to a senior "who combines as nearly as possible Burr's remarkable qualities of character, leadership, scholarship, and athletic ability."
