The freshman "B" eleven overcame a 7 to 6 half-time deficit to defeat Governor Dummer Academy, 20 to 7, yesterday at South By field. This victory gives the "B" team a 500 record, with two wins, two losses, and a tie.
Early in the second period, a 73-yard touchdown march gave Governor Dummer the lead. Fullback Dave Owens went over from the 2-yard line, while A1 Smith ran up the middle for the extra point.
Pass Scores
Minutes later, the Yardlings came back with a 27-yard scoring pass from tailback Dick Fyock to end "Pesky" Pescosolido, but the attempt for the extra point failed.
The freshmen moved into the lead in the third quarter and kept it when end Walt Bregman blocked a Governor Dummer kick and fell on it in the end zone. This time, Fyock circled end for the extra point. The final score came in the fourth period, when halfback Ed Moll bucked over from the 2-yard line. Fyock converted, giving the Yardlings a 20 to 7 advantage.
So far, after losing two straight, to Noble and Greenough and Winthrop House, the "B" team has come back to tie one and win two contests.
