For the first time in ten days the Crimson soccer team will take the field again, this time this afternoon against Brown in Providence. And for the first time this season coach Brace Munro seems to have found a scoring combination for his first line.
By moving Bernard Florin up into the center forward slot, and shifting Johnny Deer into the left inside position and Dana Getchell into the left outside post. Munro has put together a line which has looked very good in practice. Combined with George Baker at right inside and Win Knowiton at right wing, this line has scored four or five goals per scrimmage consistently all week. Munro is "very encouraged" about this sudden reversal of form and rash of goals.
Brown Aggressive
Whether or not the team can score in game remains to be seen this afternoon. Brown should put up a pretty even fight. The Bruins play a rough and aggressive type of soccer, but are not as strong as usual. The have absorbed three 7 to 9 defeats this season, from Yale, Army, and Wesleyan. The team began green, however, and early defeats may be attributed to lack of experience. By now the Bruins have added polish to their attack.
Hamphrey Doermann will start today at left halfback, with Bob Harding at center half and Larry Leonard at right half. The fullbacks will be Bob Sobel and Charlie Ufford with Captain Dick Craven in the goal. The Crimson has only had two practices this week due to holidays and K O T C drills.
