Fall Rowing Ends As McCagg Crew Beats All Others

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Crew captain Louis McCagg wound up the fall rowing season with a bang yesterday by stroking his boat to victory in the climax inter-squad race. McCagg's boat, which the betting fraternity had given little chance in the pre-race odds, won easily in 4:01 over the three-quarter mile and three length course.

From now till spring oarsmen will no longer row on the river, but will come to Newell voluntarily to work out in the tank. The winter rowing is primarily for self development and to keep the crewmen in shape. Coach Harvey Love commented that fall rowing was especially successful this year, "There are no poor oarsmen among them this fall," he said.

Fred Moseley rowed in the seven seat of the winning boat, with Link Boyden at six, George Walcott five, Clem Despard four, Nick Brown three, Lee Henderson two, John McLeod bow, and Al Lefkowits cox. Reuben Richards' boat came in second in 4:03, with Larry Brownell's eight third three seconds later. Bob Terry's boat was fourth and Tom Adams' last.
