Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The names of Dwight Hyde 1B and Jerry Kanter 1B last night issued from the secrecy surrounding the current athletic shakeups at Open University and Closed College. In simultaneous announcements, the two administrations revealed that Hyde had been signed to a one year contract at Open and Kanter had agreed to a similar lease at Closed. The two men will take over their positions immediately.
With the first Open-Closed classic scheduled for Harvard Stadium next Saturday, November 3, football observers speculated that the two young men would be hard pressed to field teams for the game.
Both Coaches Ready
In exclusive interviews last night with the CRIMSON the two mentors denied these charges. Sald Hyde: "We've been expecting this move for some time and we've had scouting organizations working for almost a month." Kanter agreed with Hyde: "We'll be ready," he said, "we'll be ready."
Closed played Saturday on its home grounds in Mystic, Connecticut, but the opponent could not be determined because of fog. Open held S.M.U. to a scoreless tie Saturday, and came up with similar scores against Tennessee, Baylor, Tulsa, Worcester Tech, and Mississippi State earlier this season.
Hyde and Kanter, ex-members of the Crimson varsity, left coaching positions at Winthrop and Lowell Houses for the new spots
House Players May Jump
Usually reliable sources predicted that many House football players would follow the two popular mentors to the new schools. According to these reports, members of the Winthrop, Dudley, Kirkland, and Dunster teams would follow Hyde to Open while representatives of Lowell, Eliot Leverett, and Adams were contemplating jumping to Closed. Up to 3 a.m. this morning those rumors could not be confirmed.
