Healey to Play at Tailback, Safety In Army Fracas

Bill Healey will probably be both the first-string tailback and the starting safety man when the varsity football team meets Army tomorrow in the Stadium. Coach Lloyd Jordan yesterday admitted that Healey, who so far this year has played defensive halfback and occasional wingback, would take on the two crucial positions.

Healey's double assignment is the result of injuries to Captain Red Wylie and tailback Dick Clasby. Clasby, still suffering from a bruise on the crest of his hipbone, did not run through signal drills with the team yesterday and will probably play very little tomorrow.

The varsity did not scrimmage at all yesterday, but worked on offensive formations which stressed passing. In the first-string backfield were John Tulenko at wingback, Gil O'Neil at quarterback, John Culver at fullback, and Healey at tailback.

After the practice Jordan said that Culver is not quite up to form because of a bruised leg, but that he will probably start just the same. Asked about Army's offense, he said. "We didn't work on pass defense. We expect them to run."
