Sharp salling and clever tactics by Charlie Hoppin gave the salling team a clean sweep of the Coast Guard, M.I.T., and Boston College meet yesterday.

The sailors racked up 119 points, with Hoppin winning four out of his four races, and Tom Carroll taking the International 14 feet division with two firsts and a second.

The meet was the first of the season for the local sailors. Held at the Coast Guard base in New London, Connecticut, the meet's official title was the Tenth Annual Coast Guard Academy Invitation.
