N.S.A. Issues Free Discount Cards; P.B.H. Wants Vests, Science Books

Prices for University and Radcliffe students at 15 stores around the Square will be ten percent less beginning today.

In a complete revision of their purchase card system, the National Students' Association will distribute Student Discount Service cards to all College and Radcliffe students at dinner tonight. Other members of the University will receive them soon.

The cards, free of charge, replace the N.S.A. purchase cards of former years. A total of 12,000 will be given out at Harvard while over a million discount service cards will be distributed throughout the nation, according to George Miller '52, chairman of the College chapter of N.S.A.

The discount cards will be valid throughout the nation.

For its annual collection drive, Phillips Brooks House this year desires vests, books of American and English literature, and scientific texts. The drive will begin during exam period.

Since the war, P.B.H. has been sending the clothing and books to Europe, and, more recently, the Far East. The books were sent to universities on the continent to help them get back in operation after the Nazi book purge. Now those universities request certain volumes that can not be found there; scientific texts head the list.

Before the war, the clothing was given to needy Cambridge families and University employees. P.B.H. volunteers clean and repair all garments before sending them abroad.
