AMHERST--A new step toward elimination of harmful hazing practices in colleges was disclosed today with publication by the University of Massachusetts Interfraternity Council of rules governing so-called "Hell Week" in 1951.

First the name "Hell Week" is abolished. It is to be known henceforth, as "Character Building Week." . . . from the Berkshire Evening Eagle, Dec. 28, 1950
