Freshman Swimmers Win Second, Beating Brookline High, 48-26

The freshman swimming team yesterday defeated a strong Brookline High aggregation at Brookline to win its second straight meet, 48 to 26. It beat Worcester Junior College 44 to 12 last Saturday.

The Yardlings took every event except the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 yard freestyle. In the 50 yard freestyle, Miller Malcolm won, while Charles Egan took the 100 yard breaststroke for the freshmen. Paul Urnes was the winner in the 200 yard freestyle; the 150 yard individual medley was taken by Claude Hooton. James Kiggen won the diving event.

The two relay events were also taken by the Yardlings. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, Timothy Whelan, William Travis, Sadri Kahn, and Pliney Jewell won, while Bugs Baer, Ralph Zani and Austin Briggs took the 150 yard medley relay.
