Sly Student Straightens Snarl

As the usual 5 p.m. traffic piled up at the corner of Boylston Avenue and Memorial Drive last evening, the usual traffic cop was not on hand. And so cars, with horns blaring, were tied up as far as Dunster House, until a student who was walking by noticed the situation.

With a great leap he dashed into the middle of the snarl, and, with appropriate gestures, had the entire jam straightened out in five minutes. Grateful drivers tooted their horns in tribute to the hero, but the Cambridge police soon rushed up and forced the student back to his books.
