Yardlings Get Ready For Council Elections

The Yard dorm units that will eventually choose representatives to the Freshman Council completed their first round of meetings last night. Only three weeks remain before the fourth and final meeting, when the representatives will be chosen.

Borden F. Beck, Jr. '45 3L Secretary to the Union, announced yesterday that last year's experiment with an elected group proved so successful that the administration decided to try the system again this year. Before 1949, the Council was an appointed body.

The present Council, made up of sophomores, will continue in office until the introductory meetings being conducted by the Yard proctors are completed.
