50 to 75 May Be Called for Draft

Between 50 and 75 University students will be called for pre-induction exams, the Cambridge draft board announced yesterday.

Non-resident students are subject for call by the draft board in the city where they are living. But, unless draft policy changes, all students called for exams will be deferred until the end of the their academic year.

Those students who remain in the upper half of their class will be allowed to continue as long as they are able to maintain their academic standing. If a student's grades should fall below the upper half percentage of his class, he is then subject to call during the summer.

This, however, does not affect reservists. National Guardsmen are subject to call at any time; men in the Reserve Officers Training Corps are deferred until they complete the program.
