Alfred Whitney Griswold will formally take office as 16th president of Yale University at Inauguration ceremonies in Woolsey Hall on October 8.

Griswold who succeeds Charles Seymour as president of the New Haven institution, received an honorary degree at Harvard Commencement ceremonies this June.
