The men who are building the platform for Commencement exercises in front of Memorial Hall are wondering what visiting dignitaries they're putting the boards together for.
"Pretty hard to pick an honorary this year," one worker said. "There are just as many good men around today as there were in the days of Teddy Roosevelt, but the way politics are it doesn't pay a man to speak his mind."
"Take a guy like Norman Thomas," another added. "Been leading a minority party for a long time, just speaking what he thinks, not hitting the next guy. Not much chance of his getting anywhere in politics today."
"Acheson's going to be one, isn't he?"
"Yeah, I guess they're looking for guy's who aren't afraid to say what they believe."
