Former track captain Goeff Tootell was one of 17 New England athletes selected to represent this area in the National Track and Field Championships at Washington, D.C., on Friday and Saturday. The selection was made at a recent meeting of the New England Amateur Athletic Union. Tootell will compete in the shotput and discus.
The star weightman who will be seeing his final action representing the H.A.A. in this meet, holds the Harvard shotput record of 50 feet, 8 inches, and has often taken both events in meets over the past three years.
