Tennis players Charlie Ufford, Hilliard Hughes, and Broward Craig were named by Coach Jack Barnaby yesterday to represent the College on a team which will join a Yale trio to meet a combined Oxford-Cambridge squad at Wimbledon, August 1-1-12 for the Prentice Cup.

On the basis of a recent round-robin tourney, Ufford, freshman tennis captain, was seeded number one for the English tour, Hughes two, and Craig, the varsity captain, three.

Together with the players from Yale, they will sail for England on June 30. The team will have seven combined matches before the scheduled meeting of the Oxford-Cambridge squad. The cup for which the teams are competing was donated in 1921 by the late Harvard tennis capain, Bernon S. Prentice '05.

Burnaby set up an elimination tournament several weeks ago in which the three winners; varsity players Bob Bramhall and Jack Frey, and the number two freshman Art French, competed. French beat Frey, but lost a close match to Bramhall. Bramhall then met Hughes and lost, 6-2, 6-1.

Ufford Beats Hughes, Craig

Ufford first beat Hughes and then was matched against Craig, who was seeded first on the varsity. The first, match, played a few days before the Yale match, was called when Craig pulled a leg muscle. It was after the Yale match that Ufford beat Craig to capture the number one ranking.

Craig's recurring leg injury forced him to forfeit his match to Hughes. Barnaby exercised coach's discretion in naming Craig to the travelling team ahead of captain-elect Bramhall.

Ufford also captained the Yardling squash team to the State Class "C" Championship last winter.
