Varsity, Freshman Lacrosse Teams Bow to Williams Squads, 12-4, 13-9

WILLIAMSTOWN, May 6 Two favored Williams lacrosse teams celebrated House Party Weekend here today by pounding the Crimson varsity, 12 to 4; and the freshmen, 13 to 9, before partisan and generally insulting crowds.

Both Harvard teams played sluggish first-half ball due in part to a long bus trip and lack of any pre-game rest. The varsity and Yardling tens outplayed the Ephmen in the second halves, but were unable to pare first half defiles of 9 to 0 and 7 to 4, respectively.

Clark, Hudner Shine

During the varsity's second half rebound, Sid Clark played a brilliant cage game. The midfields consistently out-maneuvered the Purple and the defense proved it could throw convincing body blocks. Attackman Rick Hudner, who even in the first half was one of the most aggressive players on the field, turned in the game's best playmaking and stick-work in the final periods.

Aside from the poor refereeing in both contests, the only dubious aspect of the games was the orange target, worn by the Williams' varsity goalie, Mickey O'Connell.
