NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Both the varsity and freshman dinghy teams will race this weekend in championship regattas. Pete Putnam and Frank Scully will lead the varsity against eight other teams in the tenth annual New England Dinghy Championships at Providence, while the Yardlings compete in the Freshman Hexagonals on the Charles.

M.I.T. is favored to win the Providence regatta today and tomorrow at the Edge-wood Yacht Club, although Brown and Yale will offer stiff competition, and Harvard, Coast Guard, Rhode Island State, and Boston College are not far behind. Williams and Northeastern are expected to trail the field. The winner will go to California in June for the national title races.

Tom Carroll and John Gardner will crew for Putnam and Scully. The Yardling team of Tom Chinlund and Charlie Hoppin is expected to give the North-eastern sailors, who won last week, another close race tomorrow. Brown, Yale, M.I.T. and B.C. will also race.
