150 Senior Pledges Restore Annex Class Night Activities

More than 150 Radcliffe senior pledges to attend Class Night have saved the traditional proceedings from becoming an afternoon tea, Mildred Blacklock '50, Class Night chairman said yesterday.

The lantern procession and formal dance will be held Tuesday, June 20, as originally planned, after a reception at 8 p.m. Both reception and lantern procession will take place in the Radcliffe Yard if weather permits, and the dance will be held in Agassiz Living Room. Seniors, parents, alumnae, and friends are invited.

Committee heads for the dance are: Claire Hamm, Publicity; Barbara Tuttle, Tickets; Alice de Berry, Decorations; Mildred Blacklock, Music; Barbara Samsel, Invitations; Shella Brown, Refreshments; Cynthia Williams, Head Usher, all seniors; and Martha McCabe '58, Freshman Representative.

Any commutor who wants to be in the lantern procession should contact Cynthia Williams as soon as possible. Commuter ushers may stay overnight in the dormitories.

The Class Night Committee originally abandoned the dance and lantern procession because of lack of support, planning an afternoon tea instead to be held after the baccalaureate ceremony Sunday, June 18. So many seniors protested this limitation that the committee circulated pledges to find out whether enough tickets could be sold to cover expenses.
