H.-Y.-P. Debate Trials Will Begin in Lamont

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Preliminary tryouts for the May 19 Harvard-Yale-Princeton triangular debates will be held in the Lamont Forum Room at 2:20 p.m. today.

The six survives of today's eliminations will meet in a debate two days before the H-Y-P debates. The two best debaters will then each be awarded the Coolidge debating prizes worth $100.

Aspirants will listen to a ten-minute talk by John K. Fairbank, professor of History, on one side of the question: "Resolved, That the U.S. should recognize Communist China." The contestants will then deliver a five-minute rebuttal, and will be judged on their performances.
