N.R.O.T.C., Behind Regnier, Overcomes Army Team, 14-0

Dick Regnier struck out 18 men and pitched one-hit ball Saturday to lead the N.R.O.T.C. baseball team to a 14 to 0 win over the Army R.O.T.C. in their annual game.

George Loeus, Army starter, allowed but four hits, but suffered from lack of control. Only two midshipmen could solve Locus' deliveries: Howie Johnston slammed a triple, double, and single; catcher John Burrington got Navy's only other safety, a bunt single.

Regnier pitched steady ball for most of the game, although Army succeeded in loading the bases twice. On both occasions, however, Regnier steadied, working his way out of the jam by striking out the Army batters.

After the game, Aristides Demetrios, Navy center fielder who organized the contest, presented the ball-autographed by the Navy team-to Captain Carroll T. Benney, associate professor of Naval Science. Bonney is retiring on June 30.
