Freshman Track Coach Carl Olson, Leaving Position, Presented Watch

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Carl G. Olson, who is leaving at the end of this season after three and one half months as freshman track coach, is shown receiving a watch from '53 Captain Bob Mello, star field events man. The watch was bought with contributions from the entire squad, but the actual purchaser bought a crew stop watch. Olson will get the correct time piece in the near future.

Olson, who calls himself "just a fill in," has produced one of the best Yardling track teams in recent years. The freshmen, improving steadily, have not lost a meet all Spring, compiling a total of five wins. The season was highlighted by a 92 to 48 victory over Yale. The freshmen have no more duel eels. Their next meet will be the New England A.A.U.'s June 5.

Olson has no definite plans for the future, he said last night.
